The Rock Shop at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

This Tenant Fit Out project features over 3,000 sf of retail space with specialty components such as a storefront video wall that projects to the outside, a custom video guitar, custom metal entrances, decorative ceilings, and specialty prints of rock and roll legends. The Rock Shop is located at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino’s flagship and iconic guitar shaped building.

My involvement was during the preconstruction to which I worked with my estimating department establishing the overall budget through take offs and subcontractor pricing and created and managed the overall project schedule for the site team.

Marriott Hotel - San Pedro, Belize

 What's soon to be Belize's largest hotel, this sophisticated resort graces a stunning 1.6 acres white-sand beach and turquoise-blue Caribbean waters on Belize’s Ambergris Caye. Just a stroll from the heart of San Pedro town, the Residences strike the perfect balance between a private resort community and a familiar small-town connection.

The old-world colonial-style design echoes the country’s rich British heritage, featuring local Belizean hardwoods throughout and San Pedrano family heirlooms in the main lobby space.

Current design has it slated to be a 200+ room, 213,000 sf hotel with several high end amenities such as pier and palapa, restaurants, casino, gym, day care center, several boutique store fronts and exotic pools.  

My role as the CM has been to lead the team of designers through the design and planning stages while meeting the needs and wants of the developer and also the Hotel chain.  Conduct weekly Owner meetings and weekly Design team meetings while also working with the local municipality in plan review and submission to obtain permits.  Also creating RFP's for bid for local and national contractors for budgeting purposes to assure we are in line with the overall estimate.  As the CM I have been a part of creating the overall design and construction schedule.  Additionally,  traveling to site several times to meet with the design team, ownership team, and local AHJ's for successful coordination efforts.

This project is valued at over $50M.

The Pendry Hotel - San Diego, CA

Located downtown in the heart of the Historic Gaslamp Quarter, I had the pleasure of being apart of the team for this mega  $80M boutique hotel, the Pendry Hotel in San Diego, CA.  It's just blocks from the San Diego Convention Center and Petco Park, as well as dozens of bars and eateries, vibrant nightlife, beaches, shopping, and more. My role while working with the General Contractor was to was to oversee and manage the massive plan sets and work with the design team to finalize drawings for constructability.  Specifically I was involved with the below grade parking and structural concrete works while also working with the team of Engineers documenting and organizing all project files for the successful collaboration of site personnel.

 

Lightbox Laboratory - Mission Critical Facility

I was tasked to be the lead Senior Project Manager on this state of the art diamond producing facility outside of Portland, OR. As the PM, my team and I managed the construction (core and shell through to completion) of this fast paced, high tech, high-end Mission Critical project. The project features over 48,000 sf of laboratory, industrial, clean room, cafeteria and office space with specialty components throughout. Project was valued at over $250M due to extensive mechanical works along with the state of the art manufacturing equipment that went into this project. My responsibilities were to manage the financials, scheduling, immediate superintendent team, facilitate weekly OAC Meetings, and overall project closeout.

Faena Hotel - Miami Beach

For this massive project I was tasked with executing the punchlist and turnover of the Saxony Hotel rooms and public spaces of this billion dollar resort. With the General Contractor falling behind and celebrities lining up with high profile bookings for opening week, I was called into action to take over the completion of the hotel building located in Miami Beach.  Rapidly mobilizing a high end finishing work force with little to no notice and completing the spaces needed for opening was a very difficult task in which I was able to successfully manage a large team through to completion. The team vigorously executed day and night shifts 7 days a week to hit the targeted completion dates for successful turnover to the hotel. My primary responsibility was to manage the teams and the punchlist for every room and corridor and present to Ownership when completed.

Itz'ana Resort and Residences

 

This $35M resort featured a 5-star boutique hotel with top notch amenities such as the Great House, Harbor House, Captain’s Building, Spa, Gym, Marina, Swimming Pools, and Tennis Courts.  The other components of the project are 71 private residences ranging from 1 to 5 bedroom.  These unique residences are located directly on the beautiful Placencia Beach or in the newly created lagoon marina giving each property breathtaking views and access to the water. I was the Preconstruction Manager overseeing all aspects of the design and estimating, creating the overall budget and and schedule.
